Quatre trophées pour le LFI Tokyo au Friday Night Lights
Quatre matchs, quatre victoires.
Four games, four wins. The first edition of Friday Night Lights ended with a perfect record for the International French School in Tokyo, whose basketball teams won all four trophies against the Rugby School Japan.
The U15 girls, coached by Xavier DALOT, won 35–7.
The three teams coached by Natacha HOUILLON MIYAGUCHI were equally successful : the U15 boys won 43–24, the U18 girls 37–23, and the U18 boys 58–18.
Beyond the results, this first Friday Night Lights marks the beginning of a new sporting relationship between the two schools. The event was organised with the Rugby School Japan to strengthen ties between students through sport, and basketball in particular.
The aim is now to make Friday Night Lights an annual fixture, bringing middle and high school teams from both schools together each year.
And there will always be something to play for : at every edition, all four trophies will be put back on the line.
A new sporting tradition has begun — with the International French School in Tokyo taking home the first four trophies.
