You have been waiting for it — and it is finally here.

The video recording of Twelve Angry Men, the latest production by the Theatre Workshop at the International French School in Tokyo under the direction of Jean BERGEZ, is now available to watch.

Based on the celebrated play by Reginald ROSE, the story takes place behind the closed doors of a jury room. Twelve men must decide the fate of a young defendant accused of murdering his father. As tensions rise, certainty begins to give way to doubt, forcing each juror to confront his own assumptions and prejudices.

For the students, the performance was the culmination of several months of preparation. Learning lines, developing their voices and stage presence, working on expression, creating sets and preparing costumes were all part of a demanding collective process.

The Theatre Workshop goes far beyond the final performance. It gives students an opportunity to build confidence, listen to one another, develop their creativity and experience what it means to bring an ambitious artistic project to life as a group.

Each year, Jean BERGEZ introduces students to a major work from the international theatrical repertoire. With Twelve Angry Men, they took on a powerful text in which dialogue, doubt and individual responsibility are at the heart of the drama.

The recording now gives everyone an opportunity to discover — or rediscover — the result of their work.

A performance to watch and watch again. Congratulations to all the students for their commitment and their impressive work on stage.
